Someone said, the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, and in so many ways it does. Moms nurture and care for, discipline and set our standards. They do the dirty work, the hard work, the essential to us for the rest of our lives work, and maybe hardest of all, they love us through all we do–and don’t do, but should.
It’s fitting and just. It’s a privilege that we honor them on their special day. The day we pause to remember their sacrifices, that when they said, “This hurts me more than it does you,” they really meant it, and it did. It’s the day to remember all the little things, the unessential things, the selfless and loving things.
It’s the day to remember, to pause, and to say with gratitude from the heart…
For all you’ve done, are doing, and will do…
Thank you, Mom.
For when we are little, we step on her toes,
and when we grow, we step on her heart.
Through it all, for reasons only a mother knows,
she continues to keep us in her heart,
and its chambers filled with love for us forever.
Even when she passes,
throughout all the days of our lives,
Moms reach down from Heaven
to touch our memories and remind us
her eternal love remains alive.
Have a Blessed Mother’s Day, Mom!
