This week, we continue with the S.A.S.S. unit stories. This time, it is Darcy Clark’s The Mind Thief, which is the focus. Darcy is an interesting, and in a way, a tragic character. She had been a field operative. Naturally, she was good at her work or she wouldn’t have been there. But then something happened, and the end result had devastating effects on Darcy.
They say when a door closes, a window opens. And that’s true for Darcy. She bears the scars and the limitations (inside and out) of the life-changing event. But she bears the gifts, too. A gift of total recall.
Since S.A.S.S. is a covert unit of Security Specialists tasked with bringing down GRID, an international organization of black-market brokers of intelligence, weaponry systems, and technology run by the diabolical Thomas Kunz, who will do anything to anyone anywhere to destroy America, you can see where having total recall could be a huge gift.
And if it can be replicated by an adversary, an enormous challenge.
Can Darcy do what needs doing without being compromised and becoming the latest victim of The Mind Thief?
