Reviews on Down and Dead in Dallas:
“I love, love, love this whole Down and Dead series by Vicki Hinze. I thought I would take a quick glance at this latest installment and then read some more tomorrow, but once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I skipped cooking for my husband and made him scrounge for his dinner. Just the concept of a funeral home that helps people fake their own deaths is clever enough to keep me coming back, but there is so much more. Hinze’s prose is intelligent and engaging. Her characters are likable and realistic, and her plots keep me turning the pages. She really knows how to deliver action and suspense. I highly recommend this book and this entire series for anyone who loves an intelligent, suspenseful quick read.” — Diane Kelley
““Down and Dead in Dallas” is a little bit mystery, a little bit romance, plenty of humor, and lots of enjoyment. I highly recommend this clean and fun mystery that held my attention all the way through.” –Daysong Reflections
“Wow! This is the third in the series, but the first I have read. It can be read out of sequence. It starts off at a run and doesn’t let you go. It was one in the morning before I could take a break. Fast moving, filled with tension, in a word fabulous. The writing is tight, clean, and well paced. The characters are relatable and likeable. The story revolves around Christine frantically trying to find her twin sister Caroline, while masquerading as Caroline and dodging her twin’s vicious ex. Great writing. Never resorts to violence, sex, or foul language to carry the story. Well done, Ms Hinze.” — L. Root

Down and Dead in Dixie:
Daisy Grant is in a heap of trouble. She stumbles into a mob turf war and now somebody wants her dead. Daisy may be small-town to the bone, not at all the kind of woman to deal with the Southern Mafia, but she knows how to get creative fast!
Enters the way-too-attractive Mark Jensen… He didn’t mean to rescue anybody, and he certainly didn’t mean to go on the run because of a stubborn, sassy woman. Soon they are up to their ears in so many wacky characters they don’t know who’s on their side. Daisy and Mark decide that to live, sometimes ya gotta die. And sometimes to die right takes . . . practice.
Down and Dead in Even:
From Teacher Nanna: “Vicki Hinze has written another heart-stopping thrill ride. Caroline is abused and has no way of escape until her sister Christine comes up with a plan. Her rich, abusive husband is hot on the trail. You just have to read the latest offering from this prolific author’s Down and Dead series. One of the best quick reads ever! Caroline wants a new life, but her husband wants to end it. Will Caroline find peace in life or in death? Read the book!”
