❖ June 5 The Panhandle Writers Group
All-Day Writers’ Workshop (Teaching)
The Panhandle Writers Group will present a workshop for local writers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5 at Woodbine United Methodist Church, 5200 Woodbine Road, Pace.
Leading the workshop will be award-winning authors Vicki Hinze and Kathy Carmichael. Hinze is the author of 24 novels, three nonfiction books and hundreds of articles. She is recognized by Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World for her work as a writer and as an educator.
Her last release is “Kill Zone,” book five in her “War Games” series, and her new release is “Forget me Not,” book one in her new “Crossroads Crisis Center” series.
Carmichael is the author of comedic mystery, women’s fiction and romance novels. “Hot Flash” was named one of the Top 10 romance fiction titles for 2009 by the American Library Association’s Booklist. Her new release is Diary of a Confessions Queen.
Hinze and Carmichael will cover all areas of writing, especially where they think publishing is going in the future. They will focus on ways authors can be published and establish writing credentials.
The cost of the workshop is $40 for members of the Panhandle Writers Group and $45 for nonmembers. The fee includes the workshop, all materials, lunch and a copy of Hinze’s newest book, “Forget Me Not.”
