Craft: Interviewing Characters

I’ve heard you speak about characters and say you “interview” them. How do you do this?

I use Kim Kozlowski’s Character Interview. It takes a few minutes to complete, but the information gleaned is priceless. Not only do you have a full picture and well-rounded character, you have insights that drive the plot in ways only this character could drive the plot. It’s a great tool.

With Kim’s full permission, I’m including that interview here:
