Warning: This is a no-edit zone…
A few months ago, I discovered our Mary Esther, Florida library had
suffered a budget slash and sent out an SOS to authors and readers
to please send books.
You responded in a way that’s touched the hearts of many here.
Nearly a thousand books arrived from all over in the states, from
Australia, England, Africa and Canada and elsewhere!
I’m overwhelmed and very grateful. The library shared with all the
other libraries in the group. So you’ve really made a difference–and
earned a lot of smiles.
The librarian has put up a special display showcasing the books you
sent. There are too many to display all at once, so they’re rotating
them. She was kind enough to send some photos.
I feel a bit funny posting one of them because it thanks me and I did
no more or less than every single person who sent a book. It’s
humbling to have you all respond as you have. I’m touched and
very grateful.
She also delivered a lovely card expressing her appreciation and
gratitude to all who answered the call and asked that I share it with
all of you.
Here are the photos:
The board has a ton of letters from all of you to the library, sharing
with those who enter.
At a tea recently, another librarian said to me, “Boy, you’ve got good
friends.”
I do. I really, really do. Thank you so much.
Blessings,
Vicki
