It’s Flag Day.
A while back, I saw a reporter on the street interviewing people. He asked how many stars were on the flag. The woman cupped her hand at her brow against the sun and looked up at the flag. “I can’t tell. The wind is blowing it.”
Something as basic as our Flag and she’s clueless. (Don’t they teach anything on civics, patriotism anymore? No wonder so many are confused about what it means to be an American. They don’t know.) Anyway, that’s a topic for another day.
For today, I want to share a video I made the day I saw that report. It’s made for young children who can’t yet read, but the information is the same regardless. If you don’t know about the flag, I hope you’ll view it so you do know. Our flag is an important symbol and it shouldn’t be neglected. Neglected things, we know, wither and die…
